Living with "it"

I thought that by now, Nana would have outgrown her food allergies, but it seems that as time goes by, her allergies are not going anywhere.

Spicy corn salsa

One of our favorite restaurants is Qdoba because of their fresh pico de gallo and corn salsa.  It has a slightly spicy flavor and adds a little heat to the meal.

Baked asparagus

On one of our trips to our local produce market, Nana said: "Mommy, it's asparagus season".  Since she outgrew her allergy to asparagus, I thought it would be a great idea to get a big bunch of fresh asparagus and as usual, we got fresh radishes, and our regular veggies and fruits.

It's all good

If I could jump up and down, guess what?? I would!! But I really can't. I, however, can just share the excitement of a cast-free foot!
Today, Wes and I headed over to see Dr. Matthew Williams, my Podiatry Doctor and Surgeon. We got there with the boot in hand, ready to get the cast removed, we checked in, and waited... and waited...

A day away

Finally! The day I've been waiting for... Tomorrow I will finally get my cast removed!
Am I going to miss it? NO WAY!!
It's definitely been a challenge for all of us at home to have one member of the family in a non-walking situation.

Tendon progress

It has been almost five weeks since I had my foot surgery, so I wanted to let you know how I am doing. In case you missed my previous surgery related posts, I'll explain what kind of surgery I had.
A while bag I started feeling pain on my left foot and it radiated all the way to my knee, not a good feeling if you are a jogger ;(

And then there was red

This morning, I had my first post-op appointment with the doctor.
Our apartment has stairs {a little scary when you depend on a cast to move around} it really wasn't as difficult as we thought it would be, it actually was kind of funny -in a very sarcastic way-, I sat down on the first stair and then moved down one step at a time until I made it to the bottom and off we went!

Post-op

I finally had my surgery yesterday morning, I'm glad to be home.

Here is how it all went:
We had to check in at 7:20am, Jeanne came to our house to take the kids over to her house... Thank you, Jeanne and Cale!
