It's all good If I could jump up and down, guess what?? I would!! But I really can't. I, however, can just share the excitement of a cast-free foot!
Today, Wes and I headed over to see Dr. Matthew Williams, my Podiatry Doctor and Surgeon. We got there with the boot in hand, ready to get the cast removed, we checked in, and waited... and waited...
The minute they called us in, I felt my blood running to my feet, butterflies in my stomach, my hands shaking, and lots of anxiety.
We walked in the room and before I knew it, Louis turned on the machine (the very loud machine), and she started sawing the cast while I just looked away.
The whole process lasted for about 10 minutes; though to me it felt like hours.
One side at a time, first the left then the right, then she propped it open with the special pliers (the doctor ordered a second pair after the last time I saw him), and then she cut the bandage that was wrapped around my foot and then after four weeks, I saw my whole foot again. Not just my toes, I saw my foot! It felt so weird; my skin looked dried and sick, it was not pretty.
After Louis removed my cast I went to get x-rays on my foot; that was just not cool! I had to move my foot around and it hurt :(
Well, I am back in the room and Dr. Williams comes in and gives us all the instructions for a successful recovery. He said that maybe in a few weeks I would be able to walk without the crutches, and that little at a time I can start putting weight on my left leg (yay).
It's true what they said, pictures are worth a thousand words... so here ya' go
Cheers for a fast recovery!
