Clothespins craft

For quite some time now, I have been wanting to give my office a more "crafty" look.  I hung a long piece of twine on my wall to add pictures of the kids and also of cards that I make and I am not too happy with (for learning purposes).

The twine hangs across the wall but ever since I put it up it has been empty, well, kind of, I do have a couple of pictures and kids' art clipped with mini clothespins that are prettily decorated with bright colors, but the wall still looks empty (at least it looks empty to me).

I decided to hang another piece of twine above the other one and it looks nice, but I have not been able to find mini clothespins to clip more pictures.  I looked online but they were either pricey, or not exactly what I was looking for.

Tired of looking for something that I might just not find, I went ahead and purchased the regular size clothespins at Target.  Not knowing exactly what I was going to do with them, I just wanted to be able to hang my family's pictures.

When I got home that day, the first thing I did was try to see how I could decorate the clothespins.  I have to admit that I was getting a bit frustrated with my inability to embellish a simple clothespin.  Then, I remembered the stack of adhesive patterned paper/cardstock I had bought at Ross a few months back.  It was perfect!  I was excited and ready to start my craft.   So I measured the size of the clothespins and started cutting little pieces of the patterned paper.

After I adhered the adhesive patterned paper to the clothespins I thought I should also add a little something to make them stick out more.  The patterned adhesive paper came in different colors, I tried to find something to bring out those colors.  The only thing I was able to find was buttons, well, that was what occurred to me.

I am excited to see my finished product.  I had fun creating them and spent less than $10 on almost fifty clothespins, that's including the adhesive patterned paper, the clothespins, and the buttons.

Now, I am able to hang my kids' art, pictures, cards, etc...  Little by little I am working on that "crafty" look I want in my office -not that Wes is very happy about it since we share the office ;)

Well, thank you for visiting my site and don't forget to leave me a comment!
